Abstract: The SBIR will design and develop and advanced portable marking system to apply and capture images of machine readable part codes for either part identification or strain gauge monitoring. The goal is to miniaturize existing laser technology to meet US Navy requirements necessary for in the field operations.
Benefits: The anticipated benefit is to design a compact low power laser marking system capable of meeting modern day military and industiral needs. The commercial applications range for part serialization through unique identification, all the way to strain measurement to determine the structural health of military and potentially commercial aircraft.
