Abstract: Mustang proposes an innovative antenna system that combines a planar phased array with 4 channel digital processing to produce direction finding in both azimuth and elevation.
Benefits: Existing airborne direction finding (DF) systems are not well suited to handle the challenge presented by short-up-time and LPI emitters. This is especially true at Ka-Band where emitters can easily make use of wideband waveforms with high gain, low side lobe antennas. The proposed system effectively deals with these issues.
