| Abstract: |
The Lightweight High-Speed Amphibious Vehicle SBIR topic seeks to explore innovative concept designs and associated enabling technologies applicable to replacing the existing 5 ston Lighter, Amphibious Supply, Cargo "LARC V". However, there are a multitude of different organizations with significantly different missions that warrant investigating alternative craft designed with unique capabilities for each. This proposal focuses on the mission associated with one of those transition programs. |
| Benefits: |
This Phase I effort will help the transition gain a valuable perspective of the LCAC V replacement requirements, challenges, and solution alternatives, in advance of POR funding. As such, the technical and cost risks of the POR will be reduced and its pace will be accelerated. With the initial assessments and conceptualization completed in Phase I, Phase II will proceed to accomplish the objectives listed below, during which time the POR funding will begin. Should this SBIR project demonstrate the appropriate solution, it is possible that the POR funding could be leveraged for Phase III fleet transition. |
