| Abstract: |
Investigate design alternatives intended to achive amphibious vehicle performance within the following paramaters: land speed in excess of 80 mph, water speed in excess of 30 mph, road legal in all dimensions, transition between modes less than 30 seconds and with a payload of no less than six adults or 2000 pounds. |
| Benefits: |
In addition to the obvious military benefits, a vehicle with these capabilities would be extremely beneficial to first responders operating in an environments subject to flooding or one which has a high number of lakes or rivers with minimal highway or bridge infrastructure. Many owners would utilize it to shorten commutes, as a recreational vehicle, or as a second vehicle to be towed behind a motor home. |
