Abstract: The objective of this research is to demonstrate the feasibility of obtaining unprecedented levels of compression on sonar and black & white still images by applying MiMoCloud's novel and proprietary compression approach. This technique takes advantage of significant improvements in computation hardware, to achieve very high levels of lossless and visually lossless compression. MiMoCloud's team has extremely relevant broad research capabilities, the ability to rapidly develop a prototype, and the entrepreneurial drive to commercialize the painstakingly researched and developed compression tool.
Benefits: This research potentially benefits the deployment of all unmanned vehicles that must collect and transmit large amounts of data to remote locations. Military and civilian applications include compression of data collected by cameras, sonars, infrared sensors, radars, communications devices, test benches, wind tunnels etc.
