Abstract: XL Scientific LLC is pleased to propose an underwater acoustic (UWA) communications technology solution for Navy SBIR N161-068 which leverages our staff's prior research in the development of a class of non-sinusoidal, baseband signaling waveforms with coherent matched filter receivers. Our proposed technology solution can provide the Navy with a class of low probability of intercept/detection (LPI/LPD) communications waveforms for Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs) and submersibles operating in roles where the assumption of a stealthy posture is critical to the success of the mission.
Benefits: XL Scientific's proposed solution offers the following technical benefits, as described in greater detail in the main proposal volume. Coherent Reception Almost Ideal Ambiguity Function Covertness (LPI/LPD) Waveform Diversity LPE and Encryption XL Scientific's proposed solution for LPD waveforms offers several applications in the field of sonar, radar, acoustic and wireless communications, satellite telemetry. Our detailed commercialization strategy is presented in the main proposal.
