Our approach will be to derive submarine-specific requirements, and to adapt beam director and beam control system technology from our other beam director design and fabrication efforts, notably OTHELA and HBD, to those requirements. Benefits: This research will lead directly to a beam director design that will serve the submarine community, but also have growth to other NAVSEA systems. Small compact beam directors also have application in laser communications. Return
