Abstract: |
We are proposing a Wirelessly Powered Smart Tag (WiPST) that integrates a miniaturized novel antenna with a high efficiency rectifier circuit. Our proposed design integrates our latest breakthrough developments in highly efficient rectifier design and wireless power transfer unit. We will leverage our years of experience in designing wireless sensor systems and packaging for harsh environments to ensure a WiPST packaging that can endure demanding environmental requirements of the rotorcraft platform. Our Phase I research will also focus on developing and demonstrating the key components of the WiPST system. |
Benefits: |
This technology creates immense opportunities in both defense and civilian markets. As for the civilian applications, it has significantly large opportunities in the industries that use sensors operating at harsh and hard-to-reach environments. Our wireless power transfer technology will eliminate the need for batteries in active sensors; thus, reduce both maintenance and operational costs and create real savings in these industries. |
