Abstract: |
HyPerComp is proposing to utilize its ongoing efforts in building the HDphysics environment to develop a framework for creating automated antenna CAD tools for assessing the installed performance of commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) antennas. A template-based approach is proposed to rapidly generate the CAD and grid for various antenna types for use in the optimization/design process to improve the installed antenna performance. |
Benefits: |
In addition to serving the vital interests of the Navy, the development of CAD and EM solver tools for assessing the performance of installed antennas will be well suited for a number of commercial applications involving EM simulations. Some of these include patient-specific hyperthermia radiation treatment for cancer, study of long term radiation effects from cellular phones, the sensitivity of cellular phones to various positions in a metropolitan area, hazards from high power lines near residential areas, meeting the EMC specifications of high power microwave circuits, and modeling of waveguide problems. |
