Abstract: Utilizing spatial multiplexing and load-balancing, this proposal increases the capacity and resilience of the BFTN. The present design of the BFTN underutilizes the power of "wireless" networking of multiple transmitters and receivers to establish meshed high-bandwidth TCP/IP communications. This underutilization is a critical problem in an Anti-Access Area Denial (A2AD) or Satellite Communication (SATCOM) denied scenario. This proposal increases the capacity and resilience of the BFTN utilizing spatial multiplexing and load-balancing to maximize the effectiveness of the wireless mesh.
Benefits: Today's wireless networking solutions underutilize the capability of multi-radio wireless networks. Increasingly, devices have multi-radio, simultaneous access, for example WiFi and 3GPP-LTE. This proposal creates the capability to recognize and utilize multiple radios to increase capacity while satisfying the needs of TCP transport. The technology can be applied to both government and commercial networks.
