Abstract: RDRTec Inc. proposes to determine the feasibility of and continue development of unique and innovative Video Synthetic Aperture Radar (VideoSAR) exploitation capability in support of real-time tracking and classification of slow moving targets as well as classification of stationary targets to provide persistent activity monitoring in areas of interest such as ports and harbor facilities.
Benefits: The tactical ISR advantages of such modes of operation are numerous over classical SAR and include time-evolving movies of the battlespace, Ground moving target detection and tracking using single aperture SAR techniques as well as 2-D and 3-D tomographic SAR processing to create very-high resolution images and movies. The MH60-R APS-153 radar currently flies the ISAR processor originally derived from the RDRTec ISAR processing approach. As such, it will require minimal hardware modification to the onboard processor to implement the real-time VideoSAR processor to be developed under this SBIR topic.
