| Abstract: |
Conventional high brightness sources, such as lasers, arc lamps, and plasma lights are typically not broadband or compatible with multi-spectral imagers. We propose a collection of small and robust emitters collected in a lamp designed to provide full spectrum coverage and sufficient illuminance for imaging using the COBRA system at a height of 915m. The illuminators will be constructed from the most robust and light weight illumination components available, enhanced by custom lenses, robust triggering mechanisms, and a finned aluminum housing to enhance convective cooling. |
| Benefits: |
The application includes farm and crop monitoring, geological mapping, terrestrial imaging, ocean sensing and research, as well as numerous law enforcement applications. |
