| Abstract: |
The overall technical objective of this effort is to develop and demonstrate a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) optical network node capable of 10 Gbps operation and integrated built-in test (BIT). Freedom Photoniics will leverage its previous work in widely tunable transmitters, receivers and wavelength converters to develop an avionic node meeting Navy application targets. |

The avionic node that will be developed in this effort is targeted to be used in a range of DoD and commercial avionic platforms that requires robust WDM networks. Additional application is found for military and commercial network nodes for data center and supercomputer applications where low cost, small size and high connectivity is a requirement. |
