Abstract: GS Engineering is proposing to utilize its proven and commercially available CATCH plate technology in the flexible equipment support infrastructure application. The system is comprised of a series of extruded aluminum tracks and utilizes a CATCH nut and standard bolt to enable infinite mounting and configuration options. The system will be scaled appropriately for the equipment loads and shock loads as required. The proposed concept is a complete solution which will be optimized for cost and weight to meet the cost and weight targets as defined at the start of work.
Benefits: The proposed system is anticipated to be at a much reduced weight as compared to the replaced structure and adapter plates. It is also anticipated to be at a much reduced cost over the current fixed system, especially with the elimination of any hot work. The proposed system has increased adaptability by allowing for infinite mounting and configuration possibilities. The GS Engineering mounting system will have an improved securement method over other commercially available options as it has already gone through extensive testing and optimization. There have been various commercial opportunities already realized with the current CATCH plate technology, and there is great potential for commercial marine applications as well.
