NAVY SBIR/STTR Reauthorization News & Updates

SBIR/STTR has now been Reauthorized!!!


On Thursday September 29, 2022 the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a 3 year SBIR/STTR reauthorization bill S.4900 to extend the programs through September 30, 2025.

The Senate had passed this bill on September 20, 2022 and now with the House's passing, the bill has been sent to the President for his signature. The President is an SBIR/STTR supporter and is expected to sign it quickly so there will be no lapse in the SBIR/STTR programs.

NOTE: Reauthorization often brings important changes to the SBIR/STTR programs, and this bill is no exception. Legislation is complex in nature and the agencies are combing over the changes needed to comply with the new congressional requirements. The DoD, Navy, and SBA will be issuing guidance for small business participants (current and future) and we will post articles and links to guidance documents here as they become available.
