NAVAIR and NAVSEA SBIR Open Topic Webinar
DON26BX03-NP002 - June 16, 2026

NAVAIR and NAVSEA are looking for visionary approaches, dynamic solutions for counter-UAS warfighting!

You’ve seen how the proliferation of cheap, easily accessible and increasingly sophisticated unmanned systems by both state adversaries and non-state actors has changed the nature of warfighting. Faced with what was a theoretical problem and now a daily operational reality, NAVAIR and NAVSEA are looking for disruptive technologies to counter unmanned air systems (C-UAS).

This is where industry can bring its vision and expertise to the fight. You can take your first steps today by reaching out to us during NAVAIR and NAVSEA’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) pre-release Open Topic period before the call for proposals opens June 24.

NAVAIR and NAVSEA are looking for innovative solutions that can detect, track, identify and neutralize single and multiple UAS threats in complex operational environments, ultimately providing the warfighter with a decisive overmatch capability to ensure freedom of maneuver and protection of assets. Primary technology areas of interest are:
AI-Powered Target Recognition for C-UAS
AI/ML-Enhanced Swarm Detection, Tracking and Anomalies
Non-Kinetic/Low Kinetic Defeat System for Small UAS
AI/ML for Countering Advanced Signature Management
We’ve set up two opportunities for you:

  1. You can attend (via Teams) NAVAIR and NAVSEA’s Counter-UAS SBIR Open Topic Industry Day on June 16 from 1-3 p.m. Access to the live event is also available (Here.). Phone calls will NOT be accepted. No registration required. Just create a calendar reminder and join via the Teams link.

  2. You can submit your questions, find additional information, and research program requirements on the DOW’s SBIR/STTR Innovation Portal (Topics and Topic Search (SITIS) and the General Services Administration System for Award Management web page (sam.gov/).
